Learn more about one of E3Sports’ Performance Consultants, Kelly Harpula.

In addition to individual training, fitness classes and the Recess Enrichment Program, E3Sports also provides coaches for schools throughout Manhattan. I have been fortunate enough to work with the 4th grade and the 7th/8th grade softball teams at Marymount School this past spring 2012 season. Just like an individual session, you must come to practice with a plan. Not only does it have to be educational, progressive and challenging, but it also has to be fun and somewhat achievable. Finding that precious balance, however, is the secret to success.

I use the field as my classroom to demonstrate individual and team success as well as how to focus, multi-task, be professional, respect your opponent and honor the game. The lessons I have learned on the field over the last 23 years have directly shaped who I am as a person. From playing every single one of those 23 years to officiating tournaments to coaching all age groups, there is always an opportunity to gain knowledge. The wins and championships are nice (and I have my fair share), but the lessons learned on the journey are much more valuable.

My high school varsity coach once wrote to "lead by example of confidence, strength and class." Like anything in life, if you have those three elements mastered, you will experience success both on and off the field.
