E3Sports Educates “Jim Calhoun Basketball Camp”

Travels to UCONN for Two Interactive Presentations

New York, NY -- July 23, 2009 --  E3Sports was recently selected by the Jim Calhoun Basketball Camp to provide education on injury prevention and athletic development training to over 1,000 of their elite campers and coaches.  Two, interactive, learn-by-doing presentations were conducted by E3Sports at the University of Connecticut campus in Storrs, CT.  The goal was to showcase movements to enhance an athlete's ability on the basketball court and to give both coaches and campers training strategies to successfully reduce injury potential.

During the sessions conducted by Andrew FitzGerald and the E3Sports' team of performance specialists campers were introduced to a new way of training their bodies by increasing mobility and stability, while mastering their own body weight. Included in the presentations were easy to follow exercises to help the players jump higher, increase lateral explosiveness on defense, enhance first step quickness, and increase cardiovascular fitness.

"The presentations were not only informative, but displayed drills that campers could easily comprehend and apply to basketball related activities," stated Benjamin Wood, Camp Administrator. "E3sports showed our campers that focusing on certain areas of the body can expand your athletic ability and also help to limit potential injuries. We look forward to working with them again."

E3Sports prides itself on designing sport-specific programs and training for the athlete. For this demonstration, basketball skills commonly used on the court were transcended to strength and power movements by using mini-bands, resistance tubes and medicine balls.  By having campers perform these dynamic exercises, the presentations were interactive, engaging and fun and received excellent response from both coaches and campers.

Considered by many to be one of the best boys' basketball camps in America, the Jim Calhoun Basketball Camp provides student athletes with the opportunity to learn from some of the finest college basketball coaches in the country. Two one week basketball camps are held at Gampel Pavilion at the University of Connecticut.
