Kids Of Summer Baseball Hires E3Sports
To Provide Sport-Specific Athletic Development & Injury Prevention Training
New York, NY - May 2009 -- E3Sports has been hired by the Kids of Summer Baseball (KOS) program to provide sport-specific athletic development and injury prevention training for their campers. The training will take place every Wednesday throughout the summer from July 1 through Aug 26th at Riverside Park. E3Sports Performance Specialist, Jeff Hinman (a former US Olympic baseball player), will lead the training sessions, including an active warm-up with the entire camp at the start of each day, athletic development training stations to help campers improve their baseball skills, and a regeneration/recovery session to end the day.
"I had been waiting for a program like E3Sports to come along since I started my baseball program eight years ago," commented Director, Mike Handell. "Proper conditioning is not emphasized enough in a young athlete's development and they need to know how to keep their bodies in shape the proper way. E3Sports provides the campers with a real training program that's fun, sport specific and I know will help the campers prevent injuries and improve their performance. I'm excited, the parents are excited and after working with E3Sports this summer, I feel the kids will see the results on the field."
E3Sports has created a unique program for all athletes participating in KOS. Injury prevention will be emphasized in an active warm up that will enable the body to be more mobile while increasing total body strength and stability. Core strength and activation of rotator cuff muscles will be taught to all campers in a dynamic series of exercises specifically designed to increase baseball performance, while at the same time strengthening areas of the body that are more prone to injury among baseball players such as the hips, lower back, and shoulders.
"E3Sports is proud to join up with the Kids of Summer Baseball program." commented E3Sports Co-Founders Andrei Lloyd and Andrew FitzGerald. "Mike and his team have done an amazing job teaching baseball skills to all levels of youth, while at the same time creating a camp environment that is fun, safe and educational. By combining E3Sports training methodology with the Kids of Summer Baseball coaching expertise every camper will improve in ways they never thought possible."
E3Sports has developed a proprietary approach to athletic development training which involves using medicine balls, resistance bands, ropes, dowels, and agility ladders, along with a focus on technique, proper breathing, and postural awareness. All planes of movement are utilized with full body exercises to make for a challenging, but practical workout for all levels of participants. E3Sports Performance Coaches will help campers to build the skills necessary to become better baseball players through a series of circuits that incorporate power, speed, work capacity, and strength.
Kids of Summer Baseball is a fun, quality, affordable baseball camp for campers ages 6 - 13. Over the past eight years, KOS has taught the sport of baseball to hundreds of NYC children. Led each day by Camp Director, Mike Handell, campers learn in small groups through fun drills and game play, including famous weekly "Kids of Summer World Series." Campers are taught by experienced and enthusiastic coaches who have learned the game by playing High School and NCAA college baseball. KOS works with any level of ballplayer, whether a camper has years of experience or is just putting on a glove for the first time.
